Largest Lake of Tower Lakes Village

Tower Lake is the largest body of water in the Tower Lakes Village of northeastern Illinois. The city has proudly been a "Tree City USA" for over 20 years now. The city landscapes with natural nature features attract many people to Tower Lakes.

Advocate Good Shepard Hospital is located in Barrington, or travel south to Chicago for a more excellent selection of hospitals, the O'Hare Airport, attractions, and more.

About the Tower Lakes

Tower Lakes features 85 acres of pristine waters to give its community recreational opportunities and a beautiful view.

We can thank Nazareth Barsumian for the Tower Lakes we know today. He purchased the property in 1926 with intentions to make it a year-round recreational lake of a nature-loving community.

Boating, Fishing, Beaching, and More

Tower Lake is a scenic oasis for boating, fishing, and relaxation. People often explore the waters in kayaks, canoes, and other small watercraft.

Fishers commonly catch largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish.

Tower Lake is home to Play Island, a free beach that is the ultimate hang-out spot. It is accessible by bridge or boat. Lakers will camp out on the sands all day long with umbrellas, tents, floats, and other beach supplies.

Rest Island is connected by a bridge as well; it is a lush, grassy area for picnicking, hammocking, or just hanging out in the middle of the waters.

Murray Park, Barsamian Park, Hussisian Park, Bays Park, or Gordon Lewis Park are within the Tower Lakes Village. They are great places for an afternoon walk with the dog or a quiet picnic.

Chicago and Lake Michigan

Make the hour's drive to Chicago for limitless dining, shopping, and entertainment in a diverse city scene.

Bordered by Lake Michigan, Chicago is also home to a great selection of beaches. On the lake coast, you can attend annual events like The Mac, Chicago Air, and Water Show, or Chicago Scene Boat Party.

Some can't miss attractions are Millennium Park, Willis Tower, Navy Pier, The Art Institute of Chicago, Shedd Aquarium, Lincoln Park Zoo, or Skydeck Chicago.
